If you no longer wish to participate in A Decade of Dance, please let me know as I will be looking at hiring and purchasing costumes over the next few months.

As always, I am still on the hunt for volunteers. Below is a list of jobs which may interest you.

Please don’t leave it for someone else to do, if we don’t have enough volunteers, sadly, there will be no show.

  • Dressers – Dresses are assigned a class to look after during the show. (You will not be assigned the class your child is in) You must ensure they are dressed correctly and hair is styled as it’s supposed to be. Walk them to and from the stage. Some children may be in more than one dance so you will need to help change them.
  • Sign in/out– As it states, sign children and dressers in and out and ensure that all children are handed back to their grown up safely.
  • Runners – Running the children from the sign in/ out desk to their location. Once all children are safely signed in you would be free to watch the show.
  • Floating – It would be fantastic to have enough volunteers to have a few floating to go where needed. Floaters will often have to deal with quick changes, running or different groups of children.
  • Get in/out – There may be some larger pieces of equipment, costumes and props that need bringing on the day. Your job would be to bring them, and collect them at the end of the show day.

If volunteering backstage during the show, I’m afraid you will not be able to watch your child from the wings. There isn’t room and also you will be busy with the job you’ve volunteered for. I suggest that you volunteer for one show and help out the other.
