10th Anniversary Show

DancePro Academy is having it’s 10th Anniversary and celebrating with a show!

We have decided upon ‘A Decade of DancePro’ It will be held at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City on the 24th March 2024.

All students wishing to participate in ‘A Decade of Dance’ MUST be available on the 23rd of March.

It is a really busy and exciting time and there are lots of elements to consider. I have already started planning!

Students gain so much from participating. They build friendships, resilience, autonomy and so much more. The day is bonkers and exhausting but totally worth it!

I will be unable to do a show if I don’t have volunteers to help backstage with the children. If you are interested in helping, please could you apply for a DBS (£15, I think) or a chaperone licence (free but you need to attend a meeting with the council) as I need to submit it to Hertfordshire council and there must be enough adults to go round. I don’t allow parents to look after their own children for many different safeguarding reasons and it is my experience that tells me children are very capable when their parent isn’t around. However there is an opportunity for you to be in the same room as them if you feel more comfortable.

Photography

For the show photography, rather than going to an outside source, I decided to ‘support local’ and use the lovely Jenny Kimber from Kimber Kreative, the same photographer used for the DancePro Academy website.

Jen from Kimber Kreative is a local photographer who particularly specialises in family photography and weddings. She likes to get the most natural shots which tell the story of an event or day so is very much looking forward to capturing the show and its preparations.

Based in Ware, Jen will be on hand to ensure that your child’s experience is documented and that you have some wonderful photos to remember the day.

Videography

I have booked Curtain Call to film the show. I used this company before when we were at Hertford Theatre. Rather than £25 for individuals requesting a copy, I negotiated a cheaper rate of £10 for everyone to have a copy. This will be a lovely keepsake and memory for you to have.
