What a great day! Local residents gathered to watch DancePro Academy students performing ballet, Street Dance and Musical Theatre at The Priory on Saturday 1st July.
DancePro Academy students were asked to perform a 15 minute demonstration at the Ware carnival this year. Opening the entertainment was the funky street dance class. At first students were a little disorientated and overwhelmed by the size of the space they had to perform in but once the music began, children soon hit their moves with style and attitude.
Next up was the baby ballet classes who melted the audience in their pink and white tutus. They all executed their pliés, tendus and skips beautifully and left the crowd wanting more, which was a good job as the my reception year and year one class were performing next. Dressed as little flower fairies, they help a fellow fairy with new wings so she can fly. They remembered the dance all by themselves and looked beautiful in their costumes.
Finally, a few or our musical theatre students sang “How Lucky You Are” from Suessical The Musical. Even though many of their class members were unable to come along, they were great and adapted the dance so no one would have ever known. With lovely singing voices and big smiles who wouldn’t be entertained!?
What can I say? I am one proud teacher. Thank you to all you lovely parents for bringing your children along to perform their dances and entertain the crowds; your support is valued. Now, I can’t wait for you to all see our show at the Hertford Theatre. There are so many more dances and children to perform for you!
